This blue-and-white porcelain covered storage jar has a wonderfully classic decorative look.
The jar has a rounded, slightly ovoid body with a short neck and fitted circular lid. It is decorated in traditional cobalt blue underglaze on a creamy white porcelain ground. The hand-painted decoration includes a long-tailed bird or phoenix-like bird surrounded by peonies and other flowering branches, while the reverse features additional large-scale floral motifs.
